Who founded the Miriam Foundation
and why?

The Miriam Foundation was founded in 1970 by a group of dedicated individuals who wanted to help the Miriam Home, a residence for children with intellectual disabilities, provide the best possible care. Miriam Home & Services has grown enormously since then and is now a publicly funded agency which is part of the Quebec Ministry of Health and Social Services network, providing a wide array of rehabilitative, vocational and residential services to over 600 children, adolescents and adults on the island of Montreal.

The Miriam Foundation has expanded its operations to include an Annual Giving Campaign, golf, Texas Hold'em and bridge tournaments and a variety of other events and projects in support of programs and services at Miriam Home & Services as well as other locales.

Why did I receive two Annual Campaign
donation requests this year?

The Miriam Foundation makes every effort to keep its donor base up to date. If you moved since you made your last donation or have made donations in the past in the name of your spouse, your company or a personal holding, it is possible that we have duplicate records. Please notify us of any discrepancy, at and we will make the appropriate changes immediately.

Why do I receive Miriam Foundation
solicitation for different events and
fundraising activities?

The Miriam Foundation runs every event and fundraising drive separately, and each may benefit a different program/project at Miriam Home and Services. Of course, you may choose to support only one activity per year, or you may choose to sponsor each one - the choice is yours. We sometimes send you mailings on different events that we think may be of interest to you, as well as our Perspectives newsletter twice a year. If you prefer not to receive any mail, please advise us and we will remove your name from our mailings.
