The Abe Gold Learning & Research Centre is a bilingual private centre with a mission to develop training, research & diagnosis and evaluation programs to support persons with Autism Spectrum Disorders (ASD). Its activities are geared towards promoting innovative and best practices and using the most recent techniques in order to help persons with ASD develop to their fullest potential. A Canadian Best Practices Guide was published by the Miriam Foundation in March 2008.  This guide describes the best practice guidelines for early screening, assessment and diagnosis of ASD in very young children (ages 0-5 years), to assist professionals in the efficient and accurate detection of ASDs. A best practice guide can be downloaded or ordered at www.autismcentral.ca

Exceptional Family, the first national magazine dedicated exclusively to the interests and concerns of parents and caregivers of special needs children, was launched by the Miriam Foundation in 2005.

Autism Central, a Canadian web portal on autism and developmental disabilities, was launched in 2007 in collaboration with government and other agencies across Canada.

The Miriam Foundation also funds direct services and programs through other agencies.  Some of them are offered through Miriam Home and Services, a public agency which is part of the Quebec government health and social service network.
