The Miriam Foundation, a Montreal based charitable organization established in 1973, is dedicated to encouraging the funding, enhancing, and supporting of innovative clinical, residential, educational and leisure intervention programs aimed to improve the lives of children and adults with intellectual disabilities, autism and/or neurodevelopmental disorders.

Full-time manager for MateriaTech.

MateriaTech, part of Miriam Foundation Innovation, is an educational resource bank (library) with over 6000 items specifically created and purchased to educate, rehabilitate, and enrich the lives of individuals with development disabilities (autism spectrum disorders, global developmental delays, and physical developmental delays). Our service is open to families, schools, private professionals, and larger rehabilitation centers. Loans are processed via our web-based catalog, which inventories all items contained in our library.

The ideal candidate should be able to manage the daily operations, lead the team, liaison with our partners oversee administrative tasks as well as develop and create activities that can meet the therapeutic needs of people of all ages with developmental disabilities.

Roles and Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Managing and overseeing administrative tasks in Materiatech.
  • Participate in organization decision making with clinical coordinator.
  • Communicate and share information with staff, as well as clients.
  • Assigning tasks and delegating responsibilities to staff members.
  • Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees o Ensuring that all staff members are performing their assigned duties.
  • Manage staff issues following the organization’s policies and making decisions based on professional judgement.
  • Organize communication with all clients to provide up-to-date information on policies and procedures.
  • Making sure all clientele needs are addressed and handled in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Ensuring the accuracy of MateriaTech inventory, and that it is clean and well-maintained.
  • Maintain inventory system so that it is up to date and all items are relevant for clinical and or educational use.
  • Establishing cost of items and products to be replaced, created, or purchased
  • Ensure the maintenance and efficiency of the Materiatech soft-ware program.
  • Completing accurate monthly and reports and ensuring targets are met.
  • Co-ordinate financial statements and budget activities for maximum operational efficiency with the CFO.
  • Complete and approve timesheets for payroll (Nethris).
  • Always conduct self in accordance with professional and ethical standards.
  • Adapt to additional roles and responsibilities throughout the duration of employment
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing common goals.

Following trends and market analyses to anticipate and adapt to incoming changes in the market:

  • Developing and creating new items for educational use.
  • Evaluating the possible performance of new items.
  • Keeping track of what customer’s preferences and recommendations.
  • Locating, selecting, and procuring merchandise for inventory.
  • Maximizing revenue growth by implementing different marketing plans and strategies to acquire new customers.
  • Liaise and correspond with outside vendors, suppliers, and donors.
  • Projecting sales and determining the profitability of merchandise and services.
  • Implementing feature displays and special events in the establishment.
  • Prepare and produce content to be published on the Miriam Foundation various social media platforms.
  • Keeping up to date on the latest industry trends, as well as the competition’s activities.
  • Understanding the local market and working to determine business growth opportunities

Qualification and Requirements:

  • Fluent in French and English (verbal and written).
  • Two years working experience supporting people with developmental disabilities.
  • Sense of organization and priorities.
  • Creative Thinking.
  • Excellent organizational and inter-communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, SharePoint, Word, Excel, etc.) other design software (photoshop, adobe, etc.) is an asset.
  • Multitasking and time-management skills
