ABA - Adolescents and Adults
The Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) format uses evidence-based strategies to teach new and adaptive skills and reduce challenging behaviors to increase a person’s quality of life.
What is ABA?
Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a scientific approach aimed at understanding and modifying behavior based on the principles of learning. Its objective is to improve various aspects of daily life, such as communication, social interactions, autonomy, and the management of difficult behaviors. By adapting strategies to each individual's needs and motivations, ABA promotes effective and lasting learning.
The Gold Centre offers a calm and structured environment for clients, helping them work on their goals and autonomy. Our team supports participants in developing social skills, managing behavior, improving daily living skills, as well as accessing leisure activities. Each intervention is individualized to meet the specific needs of each person.
Our services are offered in English and French.

Fundamental principles of ABA
- Learning is motivated by interest: We use what motivates the learner to create learning opportunities.
- Promoting communication: By strengthening communication, we reduce problematic behaviors related to the learner's needs.
- Understanding behaviors: All behaviors serve a function. We identify this function to teach appropriate alternatives.
- Natural environment learning: Learning takes place daily, in varied contexts and adapted to the learner's interests.
