Parent Coaching - P-ESDM
The P-ESDM program is where the parent is the main actor, and the coach is present to support the parent in their interaction with their child.
Miriam Intervention offers Parent Coaching - Early Start Denver Model (P-ESDM) to families on Miriam Intervention’s service waitlist, as well as to families on the Centre intégré universitaire de santé et de services sociaux (CIUSSS) intervention service waiting list. The premise of the P-ESDM program is that the parent is the main actor, and the coach is present to support the parent in their interaction with their child. The coach supports the parent by providing the best strategies and tools (first keys) to help their child develop in all activities for daily living.
Early Start Denver Model (ESDM) therapy is a developmental intervention based on natural teaching focused on young children until 48 months. It is an evidence-based therapy that combines relationship development with teaching practices of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA).
Currently, Miriam Intervention is the only P-ESDM program for parents and their young children in Quebec.
The service is offered in French and English.
